When asked, Furstenberg stated that her inspiration came from “looking into Antiquity… for effortless beauty.” Effortless beauty is exactly what comes to mind when viewing each piece from her spring line.
For those who are unfamiliar with Furstenberg’s designs, she is best known for her signature wrap dress and bold prints. Through her collection of dresses and separates, Furstenberg hopes to “symbolize female power” and to make all women feel confident. By creating garments that can be worn everywhere from the office to formal events, Furstenberg’s clothing is meant to inspire women to reach new heights. The fact that Furstenberg is now a full fashion house shows how successful her brand has become. The upcoming season’s collection is characterized by practical and versatile dresses, blazers, and blouses.
Although the Spring 2010 Oasis collection has not arrived in stores yet, it currently can be pre-ordered online. While most of the line is based upon a palette of warm and neutral hues, bits of bold color are what truly make each piece stand out. With striking tribal and animal prints, the collection is reminiscent of an African safari. Among the most versatile and striking pieces from Furstenberg’s collection are the “Swann Dress in Palace Tiger Green” and the “Shade Jacket in Black or Desert Dust.” Both of these garments are not only gorgeous and youthful, but they are also practical. Made of silk and chiffon, the Swann dress consists of a tank dress with ruffles at the bottom.
